Managing water treatment and wastewater responsibly requires targeted investment in smarter, more efficient treatment technologies, reports pumps manufacturer Verder Pumps.

In the mining sector, where water is a critical input and a shared community resource, poor management can have far-reaching consequences for water security, ecosystems and surrounding communities, the company notes.

Verder’s portfolio of dosing pumps and solutions do more than meet environmental standards, with the company highlighting that they help mines futureproof water treatment and wastewater management operations.

By optimising chemical use, reducing maintenance downtime and enabling predictive servicing, Verder says that advanced pump technologies support sustainability goals while also delivering long-term cost benefits.

Aligned to these requirements, the company highlights advanced chemical dosing pump systems. These precision-engineered solutions help mining operations improve treatment accuracy, reduce chemical waste and enhance environmental performance across site operations.

Verder’s comprehensive portfolio, which is further bolstered by its Microdos and ITC ranges, includes electromagnetic solenoid-powered diaphragm pumps, robust motor-driven piston and diaphragm pumps and versatile peristaltic pumps. Each solution is designed for accurate, efficient chemical dosing across municipal and industrial applications.

Among these, the ITC DOSmart series stands out for its enhanced control, capable of precise dosing of up to 1:3 000 ratio even with viscous products, while the Dostec AC series offers scalable flow rates and programmable flexibility across dosing modes.

Both the DOSmart and Dostec AC series pumps integrate with multi-parameter controllers and are compatible with the CloudManager App, which enables remote monitoring, performance alerts and proactive system management. Verder notes that this represents a major leap forward in operational efficiency and digital connectivity.

The company’s Verderflex peristaltic pump range ensures safe, leak-free transfer of aggressive or viscous chemicals, such as lime and flocculant, owing to its low-maintenance, energy-efficient design.

Further, the recently launched Verderflex Dura 100 demonstrates the latest innovation in peristaltic hose pump technology. This large-capacity pump builds on the proven foundation of its predecessor, the VF 100, and has been designed to deliver efficiency and reliability in water treatment, chemical processing and high density slurries.

In addition, the Verderflex Ds4F cased drive pump is the newest member of the Ds range of pumps, which is known for its performance, reliability and efficiency.

Engineered with advanced technology, the Ds4F cased drive pump is designed to meet these exacting standards in a wide range of water treatment, industrial and chemical applications.

“In a world where water scarcity is escalating and regulations are tightening, forward-thinking investment in water treatment infrastructure isn’t just a compliance necessity, it’s a commitment to our collective future,” concludes Verder.
